Ruxton Surveys have CAA qualified pilots to fly its commercial UAV and have permission for commercial operation (PfCO) approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Operating to strict safety procedures and approved by the CAA, Ruxton Survey’s first priority is the safety of the public and staff on all missions.
Modern Surveying
Site Inspections
- During construction, repeat drone flights help to monitor change over time and keep clients updated on progression of the works. Aerial site surveys are also useful for surveillance and detection of potential safety issues
- UAV platforms can provide simple visual checks or provide access to areas too difficult to send staff. The service can dramatically reduce the ‘working at height’ risk
- By creating a completely automatic platform the drone is autonomously deployed and landed, with pre-defined missions and applications, to collect aerial data
Aerial Topographic Surveys
- Using our Real Time Kinematic (RTK) drone and survey technology, we are able to carry out accurate surveys of large areas and provide the client with a comprehensive set of a data
- The surveys are achieved by combining low altitude photography with geometrically calibrated cameras and a technique called photogrammetry. Using these images we are able to create 3D digital elevation and terrain models as well as orthomosaics

- A drone survey refers to the use of a drone or UAV to capture aerial data with a downward facing RGB or multispectral camera. During the survey the ground is photographed several times from different angles and each image is tagged with a geolocation
