Laser Scanning
Laser Scanning
Having adopted the use of Laser Scanning since it first became a viable method for Building Surveyors, we are now experts in the field. We use Laser Scanners to ensure maximum efficiency on our projects across Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and further afield, ensuring we deliver to our clients on time and on budget.
Laser Revolution
Laser Scanning has revolutionised Surveying, and in particular how we measure buildings. We have utilised this new method of data collection, as it provides many and varied benefits:
- Large amounts of data captured in relatively short amounts of time – up to 1 million data points per second
- Flexibility for restricted time schedules on site
- Remote measuring, reducing on-site risks for our surveyors
- Reduce the need to return to site to extend the level of survey detail
We can be on and off site faster, collect more data and be more accurate than ever before. Using a range of Laser Scanners with different specifications, we can tailor our methodology to each project, ensuring the correct level detail is captured whilst never compromising on quality.
Deliverable
By post-processing point cloud data we are able to produce a variety of deliverables to our clients. These can either be produced from the point cloud such as 3D render models and ortho-rectified images, or the point cloud data as a product itself.
- Ability to create a 3D model within your own CAD environment
- Visualisations of existing site conditions for design proposals
- Facility management (BIM or point cloud overlays)
- Complete 3D documentation from time of survey
Our Point Cloud formats include (but are not limited to):
- RCP (Recap Project .rcp)
- XYZ (Ascii .xyz/Binary .xyb)
- E57 (.e57)
- PTS (.pts)
- PTX (.ptx)
